Duties
This Administrative Services Assistant (OA) provides technical and administrative support to a variety of program areas.
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Administrative Services Assistant (OA) support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of New York, located in Brooklyn, New York, focusing in the areas of clerical, principles of finance, and database administration.
Typical work assignments will include providing technical assistance and processing support for a variety of program areas in:
Human Resources (HR)
Financial/budget
Procurement
Office Automation Support
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National to apply for this position.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
To qualify at the GS-07 level, you must possess:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (4) duties listed below:
Performing routine human resources technical assignments and/or answering human resources related inquiries;
Assisting in administrative services activities (i.e. maintaining electronic databases, tracking information, scheduling appointments, producing correspondence, maintaining organizational files);
Performing procedural and/or technical budget formulation or execution functions (i.e. recording and/or tracking budgetary transactions);
Performing procurement support duties (i.e. maintaining contracts, reviewing invoices, purchasing supplies or services).
Typing Proficiency: To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
