The primary purpose of this position is to manage organization's security program in order to effectively ensure all personnel are trained/aware of their security roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities; make personnel aware of threats, and/or provide security response options for enhancing security and addressing security concerns.
Duties
Administers the Information Security program for the organization.
Administers the Industrial Security program.
Administers the Personnel Security Program. Administers DoD, USAF, and MAJCOM policies and implements procedures for managing the Personnel Security Program.
Provides organization OPSEC guidance.
Implements and administers the Physical Security Program. Implements DOD, USAF, and MAJCOM policies and develops local procedures for assigned facilities.
Represents organization with DoD, USAF, HQ AFMC and various Center organizations.

- The employee is required to obtain and maintain a security clearance commensurate with the position's sensitivity code
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing
- Work may occasionally require the employee to work outside the normal business hours
- Shift work and emergency overtime may be required

- This position may require travel
- Selectee may be required to serve a probationary or trial period
- This position meets the administrative exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.206)
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial
- This position is designated as a national security position
- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date
- Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed
- DoD AT Level II certification is highly desired
- Conducts Antiterrorism program reviews and off-installation facility risk assessments
- Serves as a member of the Center Inspection Team and AFLCMC primary Air Force Mission Assurance POC
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in security concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to plan and implements security as well experience in monitoring and influencing cost parameters at work, tasks and projects and establishing priorities that reflect mission and organizational needs; experience in developing, analyzing and evaluation security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the program for the assigned program.
NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of physical, information, industrial, personnel, and operations security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.
Knowledge of security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the installation and supported organizations.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
