Duties

Plans, organizes, and directs all security operations for the 711 HPW and subordinate organizations, ensuring that administrative security programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Provides security advice and risk mitigation recommendations to the 711 HPW Commander and subordinate organizations' Commanders and Directors. Directs and oversees Information Protection (which includes Information, Personnel, Industrial and Operations Security), Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security, Cyber Security for SCI and SAP information/systems/networks, and Physical Security and Antiterrorism for 711 HPW missions, classified and controlled unclassified information, technology development and facilities. Plans/executes S&T Protection to enable Wing's acceleration/delivery of Human Performance knowledge products and expertise amid unprecedented adversarial threats. Plans/implements and oversees Wing's execution of Risk Identification and Security Countermeasures program to ensure collaborations with non-government entities are risk-informed.

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • The duty location for this position is Wright-Patterson AFB, however this position is eligible for maximum telework flexibilities. Telework options can be negotiated and implemented after entrance on duty.

  • Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for this position
  • Random drug testing may be required depending upon the position being filled.
  • Supervisory requirements may be required depending upon the position being filled.

  • Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) may be offered for eligible candidates (may require a service agreement)
  • Travel and/or performance of additional duties may be required.
  • This position requires the following certifications IAW with AFI 36-2645: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within 2 years of established Entrance on Duty.
  • This posn has been designated as Key. In the event of a crisis, selectee must perform the duties until relieved. This posn cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization. Requires the incumbent be removed from military recall status.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. To qualify for this position, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DO-3 (GS-14) broadband. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
