You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR in the Technical Branch, Inspection Division, Quality Assurance Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will establish all training and certification requirements, approve examinations, and verify the administration and grading of certification examinations. You will analyze training requirements, identify and implement actions designed to correct weak areas identified, advise in the development of lesson plans, and analyze training deficiencies documented for trends or patterns. You will serve as a training technical expert and be responsible for the administration of the division's training program. You will determine need for improvement and in-service/Just-In-Time training. You will develop training strategy and budget to fund needed training and inspector equipment. You will schedule, monitor, track, and resolve issues with medical appointments, security, rad-con, calibrated tooling and other shipyard and vendor training issues.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying methods and techniques of instruction to develop lesson plans and training materials, evaluate course content, and conduct formal subject-matter classroom training.
