This Staff Chief position is located within the Technology Solutions Office (TSO), headed by the Chief Technology Officer, under the Department of Technology Services (DTS). The position reports directly to the Deputy Chief Technology Officer.

Duties

The incumbent is responsible for managing federal and contractor teams within the Project Acceleration Staff (PAS) function and collaborating with TSO and with other partnering offices to facilitate innovation efforts to bring business value-added solutions and services to the judiciary. Duties of the position include but are not limited to: Leading and managing PAS teams to deliver technology innovation projects from research to proof of concept to the prototyping stage. Ensuring the PAS teams are cross-functional; ensure operational readiness through proper and constant collaboration with partnering offices with operational responsibilities. Managing TSO's innovative initiative pipeline and coordinate with other TSO leaders to matrix resources in support of the initiatives. Implementing innovative strategies to "fail fast", accelerate project timeline and enhance efficiency. Ensuring the PAS teams are collaborating with stakeholders and partnering offices to define project goals, scope, roles and responsibilities, and deliverables. Overseeing the PAS teams to ensure projects are on track and risks are regularly being identified and mitigated. Fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team. Providing regular updates to senior management on project status and performance.

Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions. Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience in all of the following areas: Leading cross-functional teams, driving project success and implementing modernization strategies. Experience working with senior management and leaders in reporting project status, communicating complex business and technical scenarios and problems. Experience in facilitating problem and conflict resolution across organizational and functional boundaries.
