About the Position: Serves as the United States Army Armor School (USAARMS) Commandant's subject-matter expert on magazine production, copyright laws, libel, professional bulletin policies and regulations, and journalistic techniques.

Duties

Supervise one editor in performing editorial and art layout work. Adhere to DA, MCOE, and Fort Moore EEO guidelines in carrying out personnel management responsibilities. Apply knowledge and experience in the field of visual communication to ensure the visual impact of the journal reaches all elements of the complex target audience, ranging in position. Reviews material for clarity, brevity, organization, and grammatical correctness, and edits to improve style or tone, aid transition, achieve brevity, or improve logical flow. Ensures all materials comply with Federal, Department of Defense, and Army regulations or manuals related to publication and review of doctrinal literature.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
