About the Position: Provide advice and guidance on administrative matters and discusses the overall objectives of the magazine. rely on the incumbent to independently plan and manage the preparation, sale, and distribution of the Infantry magazine, presenting a variety of Infantry subjects in keeping with the objectives of the magazine.
Duties
Serves as an editor for the Army Infatry Magazine.
Responsible for all aspects of the annual commercial design and print contracts.
Plans, organizes, directs, manages, and supervises the development, production, and distribution of Army Infantry Magazine, the Department of the Army's official logistics periodical.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance for Federal employment and/or the position.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires a pre-employment physical exam.
- Some heavy lifting may be required to lift boxes of magazines and USPS mail bags weighing up to 40 pounds.
- The employee must be able to operate a pallet jack and tying/packaging equipment to move pallets of magazines weighing up to 1000 pounds and to secure bundles of magazines for mailing.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that includes writing, editing, and publishing multimedia content; proofreading final products to ensure conformity to the publication's style and format requirements; and reviewing submitted articles to determine the appropriateness of the material for publication. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
