You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the RANGES TRGTS OPS INSTRMTN AND LABS GROUP, MOBILE & INTEGRATED THREAT DIV, MOBILE & INTEGRATED THREAT DIV of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will assist with configuring development system backups, supporting local computer network projects, and conducting system security evaluations and testing.
You will perform monthly and quarterly compliance activities under the guidance of more experienced team members.
You will be assisting with network administration, maintenance planning, and support for new and upgraded computer system projects at Tactical Air Range Integration Facility (TARIF).
You will assist with maintaining and administering TARIF’s computer networks and related systems, ensuring that security requirements, sustainment, and accreditations are consistently met.
You will assist with configuring development system backups, supporting local computer network projects, and conducting system security evaluations and testing.
Requirements

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 801 level Basic within 12 months of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
DS-03
Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DS-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Assisting with troubleshooting failed system components, including both hardware and software components; 2) Assisting in installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems (Windows and Linux) and software; 3) Assisting with cybersecurity requirements including applying patches, updates, and Security Technical Implementation Guides for user desktops, laptops, and servers; and 4) Assisting the Information and Security Officer with the lab IT configuration management.
DS-02

In addition to demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate at least three years of general experience, one year of which equivalent to the DS-01 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions; 2) Planning and organizing work; and 3) Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
DS-03
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
DS-02
4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree
