Duties

You will perform site inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, identify program deficiencies and assist with determination of appropriate corrective action. You will assist with the collection, documentation and handling of environmental samples and prepare reports as required with documenting these tasks. You will prepare narrative and statistical reports, orders, bulletins and articles. You will assist with regulatory and legally required record keeping, data entry, data base management and perform other duties as assigned. You will assist in reviewing project submittals for land disturbing activities aboard the Base to ensure programs and projects are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and directives.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • The position requires the ability to pass a background investigation. Inability to pass and maintain required background requirements may be a cause for removal from the position.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: investigating, analyzing, evaluating problems/situations involving a wide variety of circumstances/conditions, developing of new/improved techniques, performing field inspections, sample reports, articles, public awareness that affect on or nearby natural resources of land, water and renewable resources. Education

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

OR

Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
