You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Quality Assurance Division, Repair Department of NAVAL SUBMARINE SUPPORT FACILITY.
Duties
You will perform duties in a developmental capacity that are concerned with electronic technology, the design and operation of electronic devices, and test equipment.
You will apply basic concepts, principles, practices, and techniques to develop, test, and perform maintenance of test instrumentation systems.
You will provide oral and written reports on the progress and outcome of technical assignments.
You will perform duties of a limited scope such as producing, overhauling, and redesigning systems.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to attend and pass the Radiation Workers Training course.
- You will be required to attend and pass the RADIAC Instrument Calibration course.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience utilizing electronic concepts, practices and techniques to develop, construct, test, and perform maintenance of test instrumentation systems;
Experience with radiation health physics relating to radioactive sources, radioactive contamination and biological effects of radiation on the human body;
Experience with the operations of NSSF RADIAC and Radiation Safety program and the processes for establishing and maintaining the instructions and Naval Radioactive Material Permits (NRMP's) for RADIAC operations at NSSF facilities;
Experience of the operations of the Radiological Affairs Support Office (NAVSEA.RASO), Radiological Affairs Support Program (RASP), and the RASP Program Manual (RAD-10);
Experience with the processes and results of radiation survey measurements in the areas of the NSSF RADIAC facilities and shielding design.
