About the Position: Serves as program specialist and advisor to the Executive Officer on office management and administration of health care professions entitlements. Develops procedure, policy, and internal controls to Improve effectiveness and efficiency of office functions and MC board recertification. Performs duties based upon knowledge of the directorate, health care professions entitlement programs, established workflow and the incumbent's ability to apply appropriate guidelines.

Duties

Provides administrative support for the tracking, approval and processing of Medical Corps Board Certification/Recertification. Provides administrative support for the Health Professions Loan Repayment Program (HPLRP) utilizing the MODS. Evaluates office functions, revises, and develops administrative policy and procedure. Serves as liaison for personnel management and utilization.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) tracking approval documentation for healthcare program certification and/or recertification; 2) assisting with budget systems; AND 3) updating and/or maintaining automated tracking systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Office Administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementAttention to DetailManages and Organizes Information Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
