Duties
Report to the Deputy Assistant Director, Financial Operations (DAD FO) J8, Defense Health Agency.
Develop strong, professional personal contacts that will facilitate interagency coordination both internally and externally.
Support DHA work structure, to include policy, procedures and direction of budgetary matters, financial management and accounting, audit procedures, and facilities management with respect to the provision of health care across the MHS.
Assist the DAD FO J8 with managing financial operations, optimization of resources, and development of policies and guidance to enable DHA to fully leverage existing and new resource flexibilities.
Research and determine or recommend appropriate actions or interpretation of issues that impact the Directorate and Agency.
Direct, coordinate, and oversee work through subordinate Division Chiefs.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- This position has been designated as key and mission essential; in the event of weather related emergency, or other local/national emergency the incumbent may be required to report for duty or stay on duty until relieved by proper authority.
- This position may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes interfacing with stakeholders to make recommendations regarding business processes, organizational structures and/or policies; leading and managing teams to ensure mission objectives are met; and assisting with developing or analyzing policies governing financial operations for Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
