You will serve as a Financial Technician in the STRIKE FIGHTER WING PACIFIC STAFF.
Duties
You will provide account maintenance and accounting support work requiring basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures to maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data.
You will examine documents for accuracy and compliance with government regulations.
You will provide advice to employees, supervisors, financial specialists, and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures.
You will perform technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.
You will establish, maintain, correct, and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants.
You will ensure travel programs; Government charge cards are maintained accurately and correctly.
You will develop policies and procedures while serving as the primary Accountable Official, Lead Defense Travel Administrator (LDTA) and the Finance Defense Travel Administrator (FDTA) for matters relating to all travel authorizations.
You will prepare a variety of statistical and narrative reports for DTS (Defense Travel Systems).
Requirements

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Financial Management Level 01 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing accounting, budget, or financial support by ensuring compliance with regulations to support a government travel program.

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
One academic year of graduate level education directly related to the work of the position.
Or
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience
