About the Position: This position is with the HQDA, Assistant Secretary of the Army (Installation, Energy and Environment), Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Installations, Housing and Partnerships), located at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.
A relocation incentive may be authorized IAW agency policy.
Duties
Performs administrative and clerical duties in support of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Installations, Housing, and Partnerships).
Serves as liaison between various organizations, relaying or obtaining information, scheduling briefings, and transmitting instructions.
Anticipates and meets unexpected demands on the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Installations, Housing, and Partnerships) with potential Army-wide consequences.
Prepares Congressional correspondence for the Army’s worldwide military construction, family housing, base closure, base support including sustainment, restoration, and modernization.
Serves as a Staff Assistant for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Installations, Housing, and Partnerships)
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- SECRET CLEARANCE: Must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Incumbent must obtain a notary license and notarize the DASA (Installations, Housing and Partnerships) signature on real property documents.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing Congressional authorization and appropriation for the agency's worldwide military construction, family housing, base closure, base support including sustainment, restoration and modernization; maintaining calendars for senior leaders by scheduling engagements, making travel arrangements, setting up conferences/meetings and maintaining suspense files and utilizing modern office automation systems (hardware and software) and word processing programs to prepare a variety of correspondence and reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. [remove LL.B or J.D., if unrelated] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources, if related.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing work processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness; providing administrative guidance on a variety of projects, studies, and action correspondence; managing administrative duties such as: preparing Congressional authorization and appropriation for the Army's worldwide military construction, family housing, base closure, base support including sustainment, restoration and modernization; and maintaining calendars for senior leaders by scheduling engagements, making travel arrangements, and setting up conferences/meetings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or Human Resources, if related.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total semester hours minus 36) by 9. Add the two percentages.
