This position is located in the Office of the Internal Ombuds, Headquarters of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides administrative support in the areas of addressing workplace-related concerns and employee engagement/workplace improvement initiatives. Must be able to work a part-time of at least 24-hours per week during the full academic year and full time during summer/holiday breaks.

Duties
Assists and supports senior staff by requesting, researching, and assembling appropriate information including drafting plans, outlines, agendas, schedules briefing material, meeting notes and presentations.
Assists in preparation and development of summaries, reports, memoranda, fact sheets, PowerPoint presentations, and other, materials. Collects and inputs data using a variety of MS Office applications.
Researches and summarizes background information including directives, policies, and other materials as required.
Answers and responds to visitor's questions, concerns, and requests for information about the role and function of the Internal Ombuds office. Recognizes urgent requests for assistance and responds appropriately.
Supports senior staff with performing basic research on issues and policies related to ongoing conflict resolution and mediation activities.
Reviews data and documents for errors, grammar, punctuation, and format.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify at the CG-07 level, applicants must meet one of the following:
1. Experience: Applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience, as described below, equivalent to at least the grade 05 level or above in the Federal Service. OR
Specialized Experience for the CG-07: is experience providing support to managers and supervisors engaged in mediation or conflict resolution processes, that included conducting research and presenting information.
2. Education: Completion of one full year of graduate level education, or eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) with completion of a bachelor's degree. 3. Combinations of education and experience: Applicants must possess a combination of both education and specialized experience described above that together meet the qualification requirements for this position. Your current education completed is credited as a percentage of the education required for the grade level and your current experience is credited as a percentage of the total experience required for the grade level. The two percentages are added and must equal 100% in order to qualify for the desired grade level.
An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university.
Education
A participant must be accepted for enrollment or are enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in a qualifying educational institution or accepted for enrollment or enrolled in a qualifying career or technical education program that awards a recognized postsecondary credential (such as a Registered Apprenticeship Program, Jobs Corps, AmeriCorps, and Peace Corps) on a full or half-time basis; have at least a cumulative (overall) 2.5 grade point average; and remain in good academic standing.
