The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Major Command (MAJ COM) headquarters level programming administrator to assist the Force Support panel chair in the preparation and presentation of the command inputs, consisting of multimillion dollar programs, in the Future Years Defense Plan (FYDP).

Duties

Duty 1: Provides administrative support and oversight to Force Support activities, ensuring processes comply with established legal and regulatory requirements, defense department and service guidance and meets customer needs. Duty 2: Implements requirements for segments of AFRC's personnel overhire management to ensure operations are in line with regulatory requirements, support goals, and mission requirements. Duty 3: Participates in special studies and projects related to the Directorate data integrity program.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of military personnel policies, procedures, rules, guidelines, instructions, to understand respective programs and converse with functional manager; and knowledge of the automated systems, personal computers, and software employed, in order to make reports, correspondence, and extract data. OR EDUCATION: master's or equivalent graduate degree?or2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degreeorLL.B. or J.D., if related OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONFEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of fundamental military HR principles, policies, practices, methods and analytical techniques. 2. Knowledge of other HR processes sufficient to relate military personnel issues to them. 3. Knowledge of sustainment program inspection requirements; reports, and program terms, as well as knowledge of common management principles to provide technical advisory services and inspect assigned programs. 4. Skill in applying established analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of program effectiveness, and in serving as a technical specialist and spokesperson to further operating agency objectives on conventional issues. 5. Skill in compiling information to prepare special studies and staff reports, outlining findings and recommendations. 6. Ability to establish effective working relationships and to communicate well with others, orally and in writing, including preparing and conducting formal and informal briefings. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
