About the Position: This position is located in the Physical Therapy Department, at the Joint Ambulatory Care Center/VA
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base(MRTFB) in DoD.
Duties
Types letters, memorandum, reports, minutes and instructions for the department head as well as members of the department by using a computer or electric typewriter
Types and proofreads correspondence for signature by the Department Heads and other members of the department.
Maintains calendar of appointment and conferences for necessary personnel.
Maintains files of directives, reports, minutes and correspondence within the department.
Composes correspondence concerning the Physical Therapy Department and Wellness Center, mails out appointment reminder cards to a variety of patients.
Retrieves and inputs information to and from the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) computers and ADS system.
Maintains clinic and physical therapist files concerning patients, command instructions, health questionnaires and regulations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) performing clerical duties such as schedule appointments/meeting; 2) Reviewing documents for accuracy and corrections; 3) assisting customers with inquiries, questions, or concerns. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
