Duties

As a Supervisory Mission Support Specialist, at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties: Serves in a supervisory role of Section Chief of Mission Support and advised the Unit Chief and agency's leadership on all key mission support processes; Develop and implement short-term and long-term plans to ensure the best services are provided; Interprets and assesses the impact of new and revised congressional legislation on the formulation and execution of budgets, develops timetables for obtaining needed funding and provides expert level advice to managers and program mission support staff on all phases of the budget program; and Works toward the implementation and improvement of the information technology program for OLCD, consults with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) on the identification of new requirements problem resolutions and standards compliance.

  • Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Independently manages acquisition portfolio, in coordination with approved budget and contract schedule; Prepares and reviews technical specifications pertaining to all aspects of the product or service being procured and researches the best acquisition approach; Provides sound, well-researched responses to internal or external stakeholders that are affected by the situations under analysis and who may vigorously support their interests by challenging facts and disputing methods, approaches, and principles; and Provides comprehensive advice to supervisors, managers, and employees on complex and sensitive issues.
