About the Position: Works under the general supervision of the MEDCOM Current Operations Officer, G33 Operations Division, OTSG/MEDCOM. Conduct sound analysis of MEDCOM's mission spectrum and establishes requirements and procedures for Crisis Action System (CAS) and the Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES). Applies a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to assess and improve program effectiveness.
Duties
Perform initial/primary interface with component command centers and staff on matters concerning ongoing operations, exercises and readiness.
Analyze current situation and determines immediate requirements for the Crisis Action Team (CAT).
Maintain status and availability for emergency recall by higher headquarters, Crisis Action Team and Crisis Response Cell activation.
Establish requirements and procedures for Crisis Action System (CAS) and the Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES).
Maintain oversight of and function as Alternate Emergency Operations Center officer upon activation.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergencies, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position may require you to be on call.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes analyze incoming operational and emergency information, monitor and track deployment/redeployment missions, report; screen/review NIPR & SIPR "Official Message Traffic", and "Flash Message Traffic. This definition of specialized experience is equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12).
