Duties
You will analyze motor transportation equipment operations (e.g. maintenance production techniques, shop layouts, standardized maintenance procedures, etc.) to provide input on new systems/subsystems.
You will review technical and equipment data to determine the standardization and interchangeability of parts, tools, components, requirements for spare parts, and unit package requirements.
You will compile quantitative and categorical data of tools, parts, and components requirements to ensure field use and maintenance operations efficiency.
You will develop a comprehensive maintenance quality assurance program to ensure contractors maintenance and production activities for motor transportation equipment meet product quality standards.
You will assist in the planning of prepositioning logistics operations to ensure provisioning, sustainment, modernization, readiness and maintenance of unit equipment pre-positioning ashore.

- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: advising, planning, coordinating, and execution of military ground tactical motor transportation equipment maintenance and management functions. Must be proficient in GCSS-MC maintenance (Roles & Responsibilities) and have a minimum of 4+ years' experience with the system; Require familiarity with layette/Demand Supported Items (DSI) management, reconciliations with supply and maintenance management, and dispositions of Marine Corps repair parts, including secondary repairables; Possess excellent written and oral communication skills; Able to use Microsoft Office suite to include MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access.

Education
Applicants may also qualify based on education OR combination of education and experience, in lieu of the one year specialized experience listed above, through ONE of the following:
Successfully completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Completion 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. My education demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position
OR
Possess a combination of specialized experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal 100 percent.
(Combining Education and Experience: Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11.)
