Duties

You will review blueprints and other technical data. You will analyze reported problems. Provide Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) for sampled of finished projects. You will research files and reports to identify problem areas. You will provide input for new systems/subsystems on unique theatre specific constraints/maintenance requirements. You will brief officials concerning equipment issues, problems and requirements. You will communicate with users and private vendors concerning equipment issues. You will provide guidance to users of equipment to ensure proper Total Asset Visibility (TAV} is achieved and properly maintained. You will exercise continuing responsibility for contractor support activities for components of equipment systems and subsystems. You will coordinate issues pertaining to maintenance quality assurance for the installation, including tenant activities if appropriate, involved in the maintenance, overhaul, or modification of complex products.

• This position requires the employee to possess the applicable license(s) or authorizations(s) to operate assigned equipment.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: advising, planning, coordinating, and execution of military ground tactical engineer equipment maintenance and management functions; Must be proficient in GCSS-MC maintenance (Roles & Responsibilities) and have a minimum of 4+ years' experience with the system. Require familiarity with layette/Demand Supported Items (DSI) management, reconciliations with supply and maintenance management, and dispositions of Marine Corps repair parts, including secondary repairables; Possess excellent written and oral communication skills; Able to use Microsoft Office suite to include MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/1600/equipment-services-series-1670/ Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Education

Applicants may also qualify based on education OR combination of education and experience, in lieu of the one year specialized experience listed above, through ONE of the following:


Ph.D. r equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related

Must possess a combination of specialized experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal 100 percent.
