You will serve as a Supervisory Shipyard Production Superintendent in the Structural Shop (Code 920) Production Resources Department (900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Duties

You will be responsible for the implementation of Shipyard policy, continuity of that policy, the integration and execution of all efforts required to accomplish the shipyard and ship goals and objectives. You will serve as the highest technical authority for all trade matters relating to production planning, processes and techniques for the trades of the shop. You will support and promote all aspects of the EEO and Affirmative Action Plan. You will ensure that an adequately trained workforce is available to execute both the shipyard planned workload and surge allowance.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Experience and knowledge of all phases of nuclear and non-nuclear surface or submarine ship repair and overhaul. 2. Experience demonstrating technical and administrative skill and knowledge with managing various levels of shop supervisors and trade personnel. 3. Experience and knowledge of total shipyard work operations, trades and shop practices. 4. Experience with managing and coordinating activities, workload planning and the ability to analyze and adjust manpower resources, work operations, equipment and facilities.
