About the Position: You will serve as Supervisory Family Advocacy Program Specialist GS-0101-12 with the Installation Management Command, Directorate of Morale, Welfare and Recreation (DFMWR), Army Community Services Division Soldier & Family Readiness Branch located at Fort Carson, CO.
Duties
Serves as the Victim Advocate Supervisor.
You will keep employees informed on management goals and objectives, as well as changes in regulations, policies and procedures governing the work.
You will Develop and publicize information about the available services provided by Family Advocacy Program.
You will identify and recommend Personal Financial Readiness Program resource requirements.
You will conduct researches and prepares fact sheets, information papers, memorandum, briefings and other correspondence concerning program areas.
You will develop appropriate plan of assistance/intervention to include crisis intervention; assistance in securing medical treatment for injuries; information on legal rights and resources available through both military and civilian programs.
You will develop performance plans and appraises performance and counsel’s employees regarding their progress in meeting performance requirements, or actions needed to meet standards.
You will advise Commanders on effectiveness of programs.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary duty travel up to 10% may be required.
- This position may have specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.

Basic Requirement for 0101 series:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts)
OR
A combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts)
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the above basic education requirements, applicants must also meet specialized experience:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of demonstrated experience 1). Conducting assessments to evaluate needs and risks; recognizing the need for professional intervention and referring to appropriate services; 2). Initiate formal request for personnel action, detail, reassign or promotions and make selection of employee; 3). Developing performance plans and appraises performance. AND 3). Conducting briefings on the nature and purpose of the Family Advocacy Program and monitoring and evaluating program implementation.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
