About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.

Duties

Responsible for the actions necessary to secure and defend the Continental United States (CONUS) Department of Defense Information Network - Army (DoDIN-A) within the Brigade’s AO, ... ...and effectively use the Army Enterprise Infostructure (AEI) architecture and associated infrastructure and information systems assigned to the brigade. Develop Operations Orders, Requests for Information (RFIs), Brigade-level briefings and reports, and ensures timely and efficient staffing of orders. Provide analysis and situation awareness of reportable issues to supervisors and the Brigade Commander in accordance with established reporting procedures. Collect situation reports (SITREP), Commander’s Critical Information Requirements (CCIR), and Serious Incident Reports (SIR) and provides analysis and situational awareness of reportable... ... issues to supervisors, Brigade Commander, Commanding General 7th SC (T), and NETCOM in accordance with established reporting procedures. Collaborate with Brigade, 7th SC (T), Army Commands (ACOM), RNECs, LNECs and operational units on the translation of Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), ... ...and Department of the Army (DA) directions and guidance into plans, policies, directives, procedures, and implementation guidance for execution of the Brigade’s orders production and training processes. Translate relevant technical and programmatic information received from the Current Operations Center Chief or higher authority into guidance and actions to be implemented. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts priorities and schedules dates for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on selective considerations of such factors as the difficulty and requirements of assignment. Provide instructions and standard operating procedures and ensures compliance. Monitor the work progress to assure operations center objectives are met, making necessary technical or managerial adjustments as needed. Establish and maintain contacts with other information collecting and reporting organizations within the Army and other government agencies in order to exchange information, obtain additional views, and coordinate efforts.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET security clearance. The IT classification for this position is IT III. Position is designated as Critical Sensitive.
  • Must successfully pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter according to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • Position requires the incumbent to work shift work.
  • The employee may be required to work overtime.
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Call back and emergency duty are regular requirements of this position.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.
