THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a HR SPEC (INFORMATION SYSTEMS/MILITARY) (T5), Position Description Number NGT5858000 and is part of the TN 118th WING, Air National Guard.
This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 116 (Music City Chapter).
Duties
As a HR SPEC (INFORMATION SYSTEMS/MILITARY), GS-0201-11, you will serve as the primary point of contact to ensure the effective operation of satellite human resources interface with United States Air Force (USAF) servers and related human resources computers both hardware and software. Serve as a system account manager. Provide PDS customers with technical assistance/training to current users of applicable systems. Provide military personnel advisory services to commanders and staff on all personnel systems programs. Perform other related duties as assigned.

- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours.
- May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.
- The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, and an appropriate valid driver’s license is mandatory.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience gained through civilian and/or military technical training schools within the human resources business programs are included as general experience qualifications; a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 24 months or 1-year at the next lower level experience, training, knowledge of skills in applying, a wide range of HRM concepts, laws, policies, practices, analytical, and diagnostic methods, and techniques sufficient to solve a wide range of complex, interrelated HRM problems and issues; experience, training, knowledge of Air Force and Air National Guard standardized procedures and requirements related to operating departmental programs and extensive problem resolution skills for analyzing broad, complex, and controversial issues; a high level of technical skill in personnel systems and knowledge of military personnel policies, processes, and specialty areas, and the ability to relate these knowledges to system processes/functions/capabilities to provide positive assistance in solving workforce issues; to provide advice on organizational structure; to conduct planned, systematic studies to identify long- and short-term needs of serviced organizations; and to help plan organizational or procedural changes; ability to analyze trends and forecast changes in personnel process requirements that will meet future mission demands.
