About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is with the 93rd SIG BD located at Fort Drum.

Duties

The RNEC Business Chief provides leadership in AITP and Information Technology (IT) that involves implementing and supporting theater and enterprise initiatives, projects, and improving information management functions. Directs personnel who provide for spectrum planning, project and work order management, and IT acquisition/contract management. Anticipates and prepares for military contingencies or surges in workload as well as putting in place mechanisms to accommodate ongoing evolution of customer requirements. Provides leadership, guidance, and direction to ensure acquisition, development, and retention of a professional, highly capable workforce to accomplish assigned missions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Position is designated Noncritical-Sensitive therefore the employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for IAM I.
  • In performing above duties, overtime and shift work may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekends in support of related mission requirements.

  • Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.
  • A one year probationary to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required if not previously completed.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by assessing the needs of an organization Information technology program and propose changes as necessary to increase efficiency of the program. Evaluating long-range plans for communication systems and networks to improve effectiveness for the organization. Supervising Information Technology employees in performance of daily tasks for the delivery of command, control, communications, computers and information management (C4IM) services. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
