The primary purpose of the position is to perform building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties. Incumbent utilizes journeyman knowledge and skills in several trades and crafts. This position is designated Emergency Essential. Open to the first 30 applicants or until 11/01/2024 whichever comes first. Duties

The major duties of the Maintenance Mechanic position include, but are not limited to, the following: Serve as a Maintenance Mechanic performing the most difficult installation, maintenance and repair of equipment and historic buildings. Perform and oversee a variety of routine preventative maintenance actions for carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical work. Perform repairs related to carpentry, plumbing and painting, with the ability to perform minor electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs. Install, modify, and repair new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, water, oil, and gas distribution systems and water closets, tubs, fire sprinkler system, and showers, and lay out of such things as angles, arcs, and circles. Install, overhaul, repair, clean, test, troubleshoot, calibrate, upgrade and modify, electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment, circuits and components related to historic buildings.
