This position is located at Departmental Offices, Management CFO - Office of the General Council, Office of Chief Counsel, Foreign Assets. As a Paralegal Specialist, you will be advising and assisting attorneys on case management. This opportunity is also open to any US citizen to apply under Announcement 24-DO-1058-P. Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Act as an internal consultant and provide hands-on support to attorneys in the development, implementation, and support of efficient, processes, case tracking and automation systems, communication and practice support applications. Create, update, and maintain databases in practice support applications, including but not limited to applications such as NUIX Discover, Autonomy, Encase, Symantec Clearwell, or other similar litigation support and e-discovery software tools as required. Conduct and assist with document reviews in the context of litigation, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, oversight requests, and similar projects, including reviews and redactions for responsiveness, privilege, classified or otherwise protected information, and FOIA exemptions, and redactions of classified and other protected information.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-13, is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position must include all of the following: Managing document reviews, document productions and discovery (including e-lectronic discovery) matters; AND Paralegal experience advising attorneys or other professionals on case management. For the GS-12, is defined as one year of experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position must include all of the following: Paralegal experience assisting attorneys or other professionals on case management. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resumé. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks. TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
