You will serve as a SUPERVISORY STRUCTURAL SHOP RESOURCE MANAGER in the Structural Shop (Code 920), Production Resources Department Manger (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will brief shop management and recommend corrective actions.
You will conduct meetings as necessary with project team managers to discuss and resolve resource shop and/or project team problems.
You will analyze manning requirements for ongoing and future work projects as to qualifications, skills, numbers and supervision.
You will develop performance standards for subordinate supervisors.
You will provide advice on work and training needs and implement ways to eliminate bottlenecks.
You will review medical restrictions and recommend job assignments.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience ensuring the most efficient utilization of personnel, to meet future skills, training and qualification needs.
Experience determining shop manpower allotment to meet future workload requirements for both Nuclear and non nuclear ship projects.
- Experience being responsible on a continuing basis for the planning and direction of various in shop non nuclear work.
- Experience providing analytical support to a variety of entities as assigned or in conjunction with senior level management within his/her organization.
- Experience solving manufacturing problems that arise from the utilization of computerized manufacturing systems, equipment or associated tooling, manpower needs for the operations department, training needs for personnel, interface with specific projects, process development, process review and process improvement.
- Experience working directly with shop management and serving as the resident expert to advise the project teams on the proper personnel to perform specific tasks.
