About the Position: The position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE), Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobility and Security, Fort Moore, Georgia 31905. The "Maneuver Center of Excellence" is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama.
Duties
Use multimeters, voltage and amperage load meters, pressure gauges as well as standard manual and power hand tools used by electrician.
Use blueprints, schematics, repair manuals and other guides in troubleshooting and completing repairs and modifications.
Interpret technical manuals, schematic diagrams and other written directive are followed during all electrical equipment repairs.
Provide written or oral instructions on work to be accomplished, sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines.
Troubleshoot, replace, and repair defective hardware/parts such as relays, switches, speed sensing assemblies, data cables, target elevating mechanisms, electrical and electronic control panels, electric motors, capacitors, and AC-DC converters etc.
Use a variety of test equipment such as voltmeters, frequency meters, transfer impedance meters, ohmmeters, meggers, oscilloscopes, inductance and capacitance testers, frequency counters and specialized test equipment to troubleshoot malfunctions.
Use advanced working knowledge of operation and repair of a variety of electrical and/or electronic equipment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position requires the incumbent to take a pre-employment physical.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electrical Equipment Repairer Leader without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common repairs of a variety of electrical and/or electronic equipment. I can troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical equipment malfunctions and operations. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Efforts: Frequently lifts and carries tools, equipment and parts weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds or over with assistance. The work requires bending, stooping, and working in cramped positions. Walking with using units of up to 1000 meters over rough terrain during all weather conditions while wearing Kevlar helmets and body armor and carrying a portable transmitter device and battery pack.
Working Conditions: Works around and with electrical power supplies from 12 volt dc, 120 vac to 480 vac, 3 phase high voltage current. Exposed to electrical shock which may cause death or serious injury. Works inside and outside during all types of weather conditions. Stands on concrete floors and works on ranges in rough terrain. Exposed to dangers of live fire ranges, pyrotechnics, laser frequencies and explosives. May be exposed to sulfuric acid when handling batteries used in operating remotely controlled target devices. Is exposed to the possibility of abrasions, cuts bums and falls from 30 foot towers. Hoffman devises contain explosive charges equivalent to 1/4 pound charge of TNT. Hearing protective devices, safety glasses or goggles, kelvar helmets, body armor and other safety equipment and devices are issued or available for use.
