Duties
Serves as the Performance Planning and Analysis Chief (PPC) under the direction of the Commander, Defense Distribution Depot Susquehanna, PA (DDSP).
Provides authoritative technical advice and assistance to the DDSP Commander, Deputy Commander, and the DDSP supervisors and staff on assigned areas of responsibility.
Manages and directs the coordination of all aspects of the depots performance planning, systems management and stock positioning management.
Participates in planning current and long range objectives and new policies and procedures for the command operations.
Recommends and coordinates cost effective, practical changes to improve program efficiency or to align existing programs with new initiatives.
Defines, develops and initiates action to implement the strategic planning process by assessing data from many sources, (i.e., reviewing MIS data, analyzing results of employee culture surveys, conducting/reviewing benchmarking studies,
continued: reviewing related reviews/studies conducted depot-wide or within specific organizations, attending related conferences/seminars, etc.) to determine specific requirements for DDSP.
Uses analytical, investigative, qualitative and quantitative techniques and skills to determine the short and long range requirements for realignment of functions, reorganization, staffing and
continued: manpower requirements, current and planned business strategies, new and/or proposed directed changes to mission and functions and directed goals and objectives.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Analyzing the principles, practices, techniques related to supply systems and distribution operations;
Conducting projects and studies to perform performance analysis;
Summarizing information and providing recommendations related to the effectiveness of supply systems and distribution operations; and
Reviewing and evaluating results of program accomplishments against established objectives and policies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
