Duties

Serves as a senior Supply Management Specialist, in the Compliance, Financial Audit and Infrastructure Management Directorate. Develops, coordinates, evaluates and executes various aspects of supply operations at the command level, to include (continued next line) providing technical advice and guidance to operating level personnel regarding interpretation of material management regulations, policies and procedures. Works on assignments that include special projects associated with the full spectrum of distribution functions and internal and external audit of operations. Ensures information provided to auditors is accurate and assists auditors in understanding and interpretation of systems, missions, policy and procedure. Deals directly with DSCs/ICPs (Defense Supply Centers/Inventory Control Points), DLA, major military command officials, DoD IG, GAO, Service Audit Agencies and independent auditors. Serves as the authority on such DOD regulations as MILSTRIP, MILSTRAP and the DOD 4140.2-R and understands the relation to Service specific regulations. Interprets policy and provides guidance to distribution center commanders.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supply Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Establishing operating level guidelines and coordinating related support in automated data systems, equipment facilities and resources; Interpreting policy and providing guidance to leadership; and Ensuring information provided to auditors is accurate and assisting auditors in understanding and interpretation of systems, missions, policy and procedure. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
