Duties

Serves as the Director for the Directorate of Distribution Operations, DLA Distribution, Defense Logistics Agency. Serves as the senior advisor to the DLA Distribution Command Group on all storage and distribution matters. Responsible for the technical and administrative planning, directing and supervising of all phases of a comprehensive distribution program. By delegation to division and branch chiefs, supervises employees including technical, analytical and administrative career fields in a variety of occupations incident to supply, storage, distribution, and transportation operations. Serves as the DLA Distribution Senior Program/Process manager responsible for process management and process health of the distribution network. Responsible for managing the operations and customer support of the global DLA Distribution network which consist of multiple distribution depots. Uses delegated directive authority for the DLA Distribution Command Group to provide direction, tasking, and objectives to the distribution leadership to ensure mission accomplishment. Plans and establishes overall program objectives and develops current and long-range plans for accomplishing assigned mission and functions.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supply Management Officer, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Management of multiple supply and distribution programs including procurement, redistribution, storage, stock remediation, physical inventory, issue of materiel, quality assurance and traffic management. - Gathering and utilizing data information and analysis to determine the most efficient and effective use of resources and manpower to ensure mission accomplishment. - Making technical decisions related to major long-term programs and determining the direction of present and future programs based on program objectives, results, and accomplishments. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
