About the Position: Serves as an Operations Technician for the 434th Field Artillery Brigade, which conducts Initial Entry Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Employee works in accordance with accepted practices which involves planning, security and administrative and clerical problems within the Brigade.
Duties
Process information requests for personnel clearances for Brigade personnel.
Coordinate with security manager in daily activities to ensure the efforts of the brigade meet security requirements.
Forward derogatory information to higher level review for action when necessary.
Maintain security clearance and investigation information to respond to a wide variety of inquiries and requests.
Develop plans for daily operations in the support and conduct of Basic Training (BT), One Station Unit Training (OSUT), and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for the Brigade.
Manage event calendar for the Brigade.
Assemble policy guidance and Unit Status Report (USR) information to draft pertinent summaries for disseminating to all applicable Fort Sill units.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A qualified typist is required
- Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Maintain personnel data within established security program operations; Review personnel security records for discrepancies or omitted information; and Apply knowledge of military processes concerning initial entry training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Security Management or Business Administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
