Duties

In a 24x7 construct, oversees and coordinates Tier 1 /Tier 2 systems testing, troubleshooting, and support required to ensure the security and continuous real-time availability and accessibility of the DoDIN and Enterprise services. Monitors execution of changes to the physical configuration of network hardware and software as necessary to meet new or changed data transmission and connectivity requirements. Provides initial diagnoses of complex IT network and routing issues such as network traffic congestion, packet loss, and encryption/decryption of information as it moves securely throughout the DoDIN. Provides Situational Awareness to Battle Captains and fellow Watch Officers at both DISA Global Operations Centers to maintain a Common Operational Picture of the DoDIN.

• This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual.
• Position is designated as Mission Essential and incumbent may be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
• Salary to be determined based on duty location after selection.
• Salary range includes a Targeted Local Market Supplement (TLMS) in accordance with Section 1599f of Title 10 U.S.C. and Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 1400.25, Volume 3006.
• The incumbent may also be required to physically report to an alternate duty station during the activation of a Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plan.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. or Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards. Customer Service- experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs. Oral Communication- briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience. Problem Solving- identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in a network operations center environment which includes experience in customer service/customer support related to information technology, network operations, cybersecurity incident management and problem resolution. Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-12 grade level
