About the Position: As a member of the District Command Group, serves under the general direction and supervision of the Chief of Staff. Assignments are received and executed in accordance with policy directives, sponsor requirements, and established program priorities.

Duties

Organizes, coordinates, supervises, and controls the life- cycle activities involved in project assignments, in program areas, exploring strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges for the District and problems of an unprecedented nature. Exerts primary leadership in managing and executing the District Vision, working with the Corporate Board, and is vital to the entire customer survey process. Serves as the District's liaison with Congressional and state legislative offices to monitor and respond to federal/state budget and policy initiatives, which may affect the District. Plans, coordinates, and actively participates in Congressional visits involving the Commander and key staff members. Monitors and manages District actions for consistency with the District's priorities and strategic goals. Assists the Executive Assistant with the Distinguished Visitor Program. Assists in the planning/coordination with the Emergency Manager in the development of preparedness/operational programs and the roles of the Executive Office/Command Group during emergencies.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a driver's license.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
