The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York's mission is to investigate, prosecute and deter violations of federal statutes, enforce and represent the interests of the United States in civil litigation, uphold civil, constitutional and victims' rights, and foster partnerships with other federal, state and local government agencies and community groups.

Duties

This Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist (E-Litigation) serves as a Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist responsible for technical programmatic guidance and oversight of legal support functions for the district. If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist (E-Litigation) support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of New York, located in Brooklyn, New York, focusing in the areas of supervision of legal and support staff, litigation support, customer support, and project management. Typical work assignments will include: Providing supervision to the legal and support staff of E-Litigation as well as serving as a subject matter expert for legal administrative issues rendering legal support advisory services to attorney managers and the executive office. Advising and supporting litigation teams by identifying and implementing appropriate technical solutions to manage electronically stored information in civil and/or criminal cases. Evaluating current office systems on the legal support side of the office and proposing new or alternative procedures to improve the effectiveness of work methods, utilization of manpower, use of equipment, distribution of work assignments, caseload management, changes in priorities, workflow, and systems development for the attorney and support staff.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying: To qualify at the GS-13 level, you must possess: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (4) duties listed below: Providing technical advice on litigation technology applications and/or e-Litigation best practices. Analyzing litigation support requirements to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and/or regulations. Providing support to team members on their use of litigation technology applications (e.g. document review databases, courtroom presentation software, ect.)
