The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York's mission is to investigate, prosecute and deter violations of federal statutes, enforce and represent the interests of the United States in civil litigation, uphold civil, constitutional and victims' rights, and foster partnerships with other federal, state and local government agencies and community groups.
Duties
If selected for this position, you will supervise EDNY's well-respected e-Litigation team that is responsible for providing Legal Administrative Specialist (Litigation Support) in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of New York, located in Brooklyn, New York, focusing in the areas of the district's technical expert on litigation support services to litigation teams composed of legal and support staff.
Typical work assignments will include:
Actively participates in investigating and litigating civil and criminal cases by providing and directing litigation support services to manage and analyze case materials in support of trial teams.
Provides supervision to the legal and support staff as well as serves as a subject matter expert for legal administrative issues rendering legal support advisory services to attorney managers and the executive office.
Develops policies and procedures to be adhered to by attorneys and support staff in fulfilling mission requirements and coordinating district efforts in the area of litigation support.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets goals and priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Provides oversight and performs a variety of litigation support tasks for some of the most sophisticated and difficult cases in the USAO, which involve complex and voluminous electronic case materials that must be organized, processed, reviewed, produced in discovery, and presented in court.
Performs a variety of administrative work to meet the operational needs of the assigned areas. Interfaces with administrative staff and management officials to assure that legal support services and administrative requirements are met.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
To qualify at the GS-13 level, you must possess:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) three (3) of the four (4) duties listed below:
1.Developing policy, strategies, and/or processes for the implementation of program management in litigation support activities;
2.Analyzing litigation support requirements to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and/or regulations;
3.Providing support to team members on their use of litigation technology applications (e.g., document review databases, courtroom presentation software, etc.);
4.Providing supervisory direction and personnel management of staff work assignments, performance, and/or organizational needs.
