This position serves as an Inventory Management Specialist in the Maintenance and Repair Overhaul Logistics (MRO-L) Industrial Supply Department, Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW), located in San Diego, California.
Duties
You will be responsible for providing resources to manage FRCSCW inventory requirements for assigned program.
You will monitor, document, and report progress or barriers to higher level personnel.
You will interpret policies promulgated by higher authorities to determine their effect on program needs.
You will assist in developing plans of action and milestones to monitor and ensure effective supply and program support.
You will research problems and control a wide range of inventory repairable and consumable assemblies/components, plant equipment, support equipment, and other assets for assigned program.
You will apply work-related experience and a high degree of judgment in translating, adapting, or extending policies, guides, procedures, regulations, and precedents to different operations with occasional assistance from immediate supervisor.
You will perform other duties as assigned.

- This position is subject to working rotating shifts, overtime, and weekend/holiday work as needed.
- Must wear personal protective equipment for prevention of unsafe exposure to noise, hazardous chemicals, and mechanical operations associated with Naval Industrial Activities.
- Position requires reaching, kneeling, and lifting moderated to heavy loads and possible transporting over a short distance.
- May be required to travel by air for expeditious performance of the duties of this position within and outside the CONUS (Contiguous of the United States).
Qualifications
For GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating working knowledge and skill in applying inventory management policies, processes and procedures to provide technical support of organizational assets, plant equipment, and assigned aircrafts platforms. Examples of general experience includes: 1) Extracting data from databases to respond to questions and provide inventory status; 2) Tracking inventory repairable and consumable assemblies/components, plant equipment, support equipment, and other program assets in support of agency goals and objectives; 3) Aiding higher level personnel by researching inventory and supply issues to recommend solutions for assigned program/project; and 4) Assisting in developing action plans and milestones for ensuring effective supply and program support.

You have successfully completed a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree as related to this position.
Or
You have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
For GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience includes: 1) Demonstrating working knowledge of inventory management and accountability of organizational assets, plant equipment, aircrafts, and associated aircraft components (e.g. aircraft engine, etc.); 2) Coordinating, assisting, distributing, and generating accounting lists (e.g. APSR Lists, etc.) and related inventory management documentation by using a database system; (3) Tracking and monitoring inventory repairable and consumable assemblies/components, plant equipment, support equipment, and other program assets; (4) Researching inventory and supply issues to recommend solutions for assigned program/project; and 5) Assisting in developing plans of action and milestones to monitor and ensure effective supply and program support.

Or
You have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement as related to this position.
