You will serve as a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR in the Assistant Chief of Staff, Logistics, Southwest Regional Fleet Transportation Division, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC), 29 Palms Site, Operation Section of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will load/unload, and verify that cargo is correctly distributed, secured, or marked (e.g., flags, placards, reflection tape/lights) to prevent damage or loss during transit.
You will keep trip records and logs showing all pertinent information relative to operation of vehicle and delivery of materials.
You will clean and perform operational maintenance of assigned vehicles.
You will perform inspections on assigned vehicles.
You will operate truck tractors with semi-trailers coupled by use of a fifth wheel, equipped with air brake connections between the truck tractor and semi-trailer.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- The is a Bargaining Unit position.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger Vehicles "P", "T", "X" endorsements within 30 days of appointment.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Motor Vehicle Operator's permit (OF 346) for all vehicles required to be operated.
- You must possess a valid Class A driver's license and be willing an able to obtain endorsements for "P", "T" and "X" within 30 days of appointment.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Sample duties of this position include: operating truck/tractor and trailer combinations up to 80,000lbs on a specific basis or on a regularly established schedule and route, loading and unloading materials or directing others to load and unload materials, maintaining trip logs and making operational inspections of vehicles.
