You will serve as a Motor Vehicle Operator in the Assistance Chief of Staff, Logistics, Southwest Region Fleet Transportation Division, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center 29 Palms Site, Operations Section of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties

You will drive gasoline or diesel-powered passenger bus with a rated capacity of 21 passengers on scheduled, or unscheduled, long and short trips transporting military and/or civilian personnel. You will be required to observe established schedules and follow prescribed routes. You will exercise safety controls in loading and unloading passengers. You will occasionally operate gasoline or diesel-powered vehicles with a gross weight of 22,000 pounds such as cargo, van, or stake vehicles with multiple drive gear ranges and variable driving wheels. You will operate sedans, pickup trucks, carryalls, and station wagons. You will drive passenger bus on scheduled, unscheduled long and short trips on and off the post. You will transport military and/or civilian personnel from one place to another.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You are required to posess and maintain current valid California Class B license with passenger endorsement.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator permit (OF 346) to operate 4x4/4x6 vehicles as required.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
