These positions are located in Joshua Tree National Park, in the Maintenance Division. Open to the first 101 applicants or until 07/10/2024 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.
Duties
Drives various sizes of trucks with trailers to transport equipment, personnel, and tools to jobsites to conduct routine road maintenance.
Operates skid steers with various attachments to conduct parking lot and roadside cleaning.
Uses a truck mounted plow to remove sand and snow from roads and parking lots during winter months.
Uses equipment to perform road side brushing and clearing of debris.
Loads, secures and hauls equipment to and from project sites using truck and trailer.
Use paint striping equipment to stripe parking lots and roadways.
Use hand tools and motorized equipment to conduct asphalt repair and patching.
These are term positions (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended. Term positions do not convey permanent status in the Federal service. This advertisement has 2 positions which have different extension limits. 1 position may be extended to a total duration of 192 weeks (about 3 years and 36 weeks) and the other may be extended a to a total duration of 142 weeks (about 2 years and 38 weeks).
