Duties

You will maintain comprehensive records of all substance abuse incidents. You will be responsible for file management, updating web-based applications, reconciling databases and maintaining case files. You will assure appropriate handling of sensitive information. You will perform administrative duties, such as database management, preparation of statistical reports and other miscellaneous reports and documents. You will prepare routine and non-routine technical reports, PowerPoint slides, and formal correspondence. You will teach classes that address a wide array of substance abuse issues; conduct regular training courses on substance abuse policy and DoD Drug Testing Program. You will provide technical support for Drug Testing Program software and web-based drug testing monitoring application. You will conduct needs assessments to develop prevention efforts to assist in reducing substance abuse.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• You will be required to complete the Marine Corps Substance Abuse Control Officer Course within 90 days of assignment.
• You will be required to complete the Marine Corps Urinalysis Program Coordinator Course within 90 days of assignment.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing substance (i.e. alcohol and other drugs) prevention, use, and abuse information through education forums, training, and outreach activities. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

OR

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

OR

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-09:
I have successfully completed 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree

I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
