About the Position: Provides Records Management support, performing a wide range of records and information management duties for the organization. The District is located near downtown Jacksonville with easy access to a major interstate highway, flexi-time work schedule with credit hour option, workspace cubicles in a corporate business setting with security, free parking with shuttle bus service, eating facilities within building and nearby, onsite ATMs and gym.

Duties

Creates, maintains and catalogs a variety of reference materials. Ensure the disposition and storage of records are within Government-wide policies. Convert files stored on the network within ARIMS storage procedures. Provide guidance and assistance to the staff. Maintain systems to control records information, tracking and revision. Work closely with the District’s Knowledge Management and Quality Management Teams. Provides records management advice and training to staff. Ensures information/data is accessible to staff and management. Will be the point of contact for the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

  • Business travel requirement (TDY) is 10%.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience at the GS 07 grade level would be demonstrated by 1)Manages the efficiency in the data management to include the creation, retention, maintenance, processing, use, access, release, safeguarding, declassification, final disposition of records and documentation 2) organizing records administrative surveys, compliance reviews, and inspections to evaluate the records management program to gather results, performs analysis, and reports results 3) maintaining records management inquiries and actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree ] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalData ManagementInformation Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
