You will serve as a Financial Management Analyst of, NAVSUP HQ, SUP 151 NAVAL ACADEMY.

Duties

You will research, analyze, and resolve discrepancies between financial systems, reserve, and local account for all unique USNA Funds Centers. You will assist the Comptroller in determining the affordability of gift budget and cost estimates based on historical data. You will work with appropriations, reimbursable, transfers, gift funds, and allotments. You will serve as a subject matter expert in business practices and financial systems utilization. You work with the Comptroller Dept Gift Director and the USNA Foundation on all accounts, balances, mapping structures, and reconciliation between systems. You will assist in analytical methods, appropriations law and financial system in an OJT setting.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Financial Management Analyst specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying principles, concepts and practices to perform assignments concerning financial management, accounting or budget. Specific work experience must demonstrate all of the following: 1) Examination of documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation and compliance with regulations for materials and services provided to or by the government; 2) Maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data; 3) Prepare and download varying daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, email daily status reports, analyze weekly commitment and monthly reconciliation reports, and work with personnel to reconcile obligations and payments; 4) Knowledge of systems such as N-ERP, CFMS, SABRS, and the Defense Travel System; 5) Receive calls and inquiries, use critical thinking, and respond to inquiries from internal and external personnel regarding financial transactions.
