This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for serving in the Joint Fires Integration Division for the Joint Staff, Deputy Directorate South for Cyber, Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (DDS C5I) of the Joint Staff as a Management and Program Analyst.
Duties
As a PROGRAM ANALYST (JAFQ-C) at the GS-0343-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as the Joint Advanced Fires Qualification Course (JAFQ-C)manager in the Joint Fires Integration Division (JFID).
Develops curriculum and instructs candidates for joint fires integration positions that will support Joint Force Commanders and components.
Assesses quality of instruction and ensures graduates meet the performance behavior required to support senior fires cell
Works closely with counterparts representing the Military Services, Combatant Commands (CCMDs), Agencies, the Joint Staff, Coalition Partner Nations and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
Provides support across the United States including exercises, coordination, meetings and operations to include extensive work with US Services, Combatant Commands, and components.
Utilizes Tactical Data Link requirements, development and operation; and demonstrated leadership traits to orchestrate successful resolution of issues by teams composed of U.S. and Partner Nation warfighters, trainers, and technical experts.
Plans and organizes the study, estimates costs, coordinating with staff and line management and appropriate personnel, conducting all phases of the project, etc.

- Incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and will be compensated within the scope/guidelines of government civilian employment.
- Incumbent must perform occasional travel away from the normal duty station and must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft, vessels, and/or vehicles.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, military, or private sector :
Directing program assessments, projects, actionable events, and C2 milestones in support of Joint Fires capability improvements.
Providing guidance, such as problem solving methods or techniques, and advice on work practices and procedures to improve joint operations.
Completing program analysis workload and tasks among multi-national working groups, in accordance with established procedures.
Monitoring progress of program analysis work and reviewing completed work to ensure accuracy, completeness, appropriateness, and quality.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
