About the Position: Senior Logistics Management Specialist involved in providing logistics support to a specified mission, weapon system, or other designated program.

Duties
Work with internal and external organizations, agencies, and activities to develop logistics products and implement processes that improve the supportability and sustainability of major weapons systems.
Serve as a technical expert and advisor applying functional knowledge of life cycle logistics to strategic and organizational initiatives.
Function as the component expert as a senior logistics management specialist in the development of plans to deliver logistics products and services for major, highly complex aviation and missile systems.
Identify and document acquisition and sustainment logistics inhibitors, sources of problems, and risk areas which may impact the attainment of program goals and objectives.
Identify and verify methods to resolve specially designated problems to include policy impediments which can impede mission success.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Must reach Level III Certification in Life Cycle Logistics within 24 months of entering the position.
- May be required to travel TDY up to 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which involves skill and ability to plan, organize and carry through to completion integrated logistics projects which require analysis of interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of Life Cycle Logistics Management processes by adapting existing methods and applying evolving technology; participate in the development of plans to deliver logistics products and services for major, highly complex aviation and missile systems of high monetary value, characterized by new and emerging technologies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
