You will serve as a INDUSTRIAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY BRANCH of MARINE CORPS COMBAT DEVELOPMENT CMD.

Duties

You will conduct the provision, development, management, and coordination of security policy guidance, security training, education and awareness in support of the Combat Development and Integration's Industrial Security Program. You will verify contractor facility clearances, keeping abreast of any changes that may affect the department's ability to maintain contractual requirements. You will regulate the flow of paperwork to ensure proper staffing of all inbound and outbound correspondence and drafting/publishing of correspondence and directives originating from the industrial security program within the Security Division. You will develop, publish, and keep current operating instructions/guidance for the Industrial Security Program. You will review solicitation and awarded contracts, performance work statements, and DD-254s, ensuring accurate security regulations, clauses, and requirements are identified. You will advise the Combat Development and Integration's Contracting Officer Representatives on contracts, DD-254s, FCLs, clearances, and implementation of 32 CFR Part 117 as it relates to the Industrial Security Program. You will be a Subject Matter Expert and Technical Authority of the Combat Development and Integration's Industrial Security Program, which includes appointment as the Combat Development and Integration's Contracting Officer Security Representative.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Must successfully complete formal USMC Security Management Course within 180 days of assignment.
  • Must successfully complete Defense Acquisition University Contracting Officer’s Representative with a Mission Focus course within 90 days of appointment.
  • Must successfully complete the SSO Navy course or equivalent within one year of assignment.
  • Must obtain and maintain DOD's Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) and Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within two years of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Reviewing solicitation and awarded contract documents to ensure they include appropriate security clauses, requirements, and language.
