This position is in the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP), Office of Program Support, Information Technology and Resource Management Division, Budget, Planning and Performance Accountability Branch.

Qualifications

In addition to the basic education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below:
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time* experience equivalent to the GS-15 level defined as managing and/or coordinating an organization's financial/budgeting activities; advising supervisors and/or staff regarding financial program policies, procedures, and guidelines; and coaching, mentoring or leading others.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Ability to lead branch operations.
Ability to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, and progress of a team.
Skill in applying administrative policies, programs, and processes.
Ability to perform supervisory duties.
Skill in applying the concepts, principles of budget execution, finance, and accounting.
Skill in evaluating financial data and providing guidance.
Skill in oral communication sufficient to deliver budget briefings.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
