Duties
You will serve as Nuclear Engineer/ Health Physicist in the laboratory and Environmental Sciences Branch in the Radiation Health Division, Radiological Control Office in Kittery, Maine.
You will organize and administer the health physics instrumentation program.
You will establish program goals and objectives.
You will perform quality assurance assessments to document the accuracy of instrumentation results.
You will perform technical Health Physics studies in support of the Radiation Health Program.
You will accomplish projects related to the health physics instrumentation program.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-07
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience planning, organizing, and preparing project designs and protocols for research and development work on methods, techniques, and work processes assuring compliance with existing regulations.
Experience monitoring, reviewing, and integrating efforts of engineers, consultants, physicists, mechanics and others.
Experience developing a comprehensive knowledge of nuclear engineering/health physics concepts, principles, and practices, as well as administrative techniques helpful to the program.
GS-05
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience developing a comprehensive knowledge of nuclear engineering/health physics concepts, principles, and practices, as well as administrative techniques helpful to the program.
Experience planning, organizing, and preparing project designs and protocols for research and development work on methods, techniques, and work processes assuring compliance with existing regulations.
Experience monitoring, reviewing, and integrating efforts of engineers, consultants, physicists, mechanics and others.

GS-05: NOT APPLICABLE
GS-07: 1 year of graduate-level education
or superior academic achievement
